Master of Science in Sanitation

Philosophy of the Programme and Description of the Programme    

The Master of Science in Sanitation aims to produce innovators, entrepreneurs, advisors and leaders with in-depth specialized knowledge on planning and implementation of sanitation programmes and projects worldwide.

Admission Requirements

The general regulations for all postgraduate programmes in Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) shall apply.

The following shall be eligible for registration for the Master of Science in Sanitation programme.

  • A holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Health Sciences or any other relevant degree from an Institution recognized by MUST Senate.

Programme Learning Objectives (PLOs)

The overall objective of the Master in Sanitation programme is to impart fundamental understanding, knowledge and skills necessary for creating impact in the work environment. They will be able to apply existing knowledge and theory in practice and to contribute to further development of knowledge in sanitation, and conduct practice-oriented field research, independently or in multidisciplinary teams.

Expected Career Directions

The graduates from the programme will become experts having in sanitation to help manage sanitation situations on household, regional, city, and National and Global levels.
