Message from the Dean

The School of Engineering and Architecture is one of the pioneer schools of Meru University of Science and Technology. We have well equipped engineering workshops and labs. Our programmes are designed to offer hands-on experience through design-based classroom and Industrial experiences, undergraduate and graduate research, Industrial attachments and internships. This offers our students a life-changing experience and relevant exposure to the best engineering practices. In addition to this, we equip students with an understanding of the social and economic impact of their work, the ability to communicate their ideas to a wide variety of people, the ability to work effectively in teams, and the skills to provide leadership in solving society’s emerging and existing problems.

The school currently runs three Bachelor of Technology, One MSc and One PhD programmes; Bachelor of Technology in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering, Msc and PhD in Sanitation. These degree programmes at the school are consistently rated highly due to high quality of teaching and research. This has cultivated a strong link with industry and leading institutions of higher learning both locally and internationally. The school promotes collaborative research, joint student supervision and staff exchange with collaborating Universities to enhance and strengthen existing postgraduate research programs in several departments within the school of engineering. In an effort to offer an improved and quality engineering education, the school successfully completed the development of six BSc and MSc programmes distributed across the three departments that will soon be mounted after the completion of the approval process by the commission and the industry regulator

The school has highly qualified full time academic staff with different scientific specializations, technical staff who assist students in the laboratory work and administrative support staff. Through the dedication of School staff and students we have well organized and coordinated School activities.
